Impedance |
|
In a DC circuit, the opposition to the flow of electrical current comes from the resistors only and it is called "resistance" (R). In a AC circuit that may contain networks of resistors, capacitors and inductors, the combined opposition to the flow of electrical current is called "impedance" (Z). If "I" is the current and "V" is the voltage, then V=IZ (Ohm's law) Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy, or EIS for short, is one of the most powerful tools in corrosion testing and monitoring.
