Corrosion is a disease to materials just like a disease to human beings. Some types or forms of corrosion can be prevented through good practices in materials selection and design, while others can be cured or controlled if diagnosed early. Corrosion diagnosis involves a number of destructive and non-destructive inspection and examination techniques such as X-ray radiography and ultrasound scans, chemical, electrochemical, mechanical, metallurgical,  and microstructure tests and analyses.

X-ray has been widely used in medical diagnosis.X-ray has also been widely used in corrosion diagnosis. Shown here is the X-ray image of a stainless steel weld that was corroded due to the presence of bacteria, a phenomenon known as microbiologically influenced corrosion or MIC.Stressed finger joints? This is another exmaple of the use of X-ray in medical diagnosis.Like human beings, metals are also subject to fatigue and stress. Stress corrosion cracking and corrosion fatigue are good examples of corrosion failures under stress. Fractures and cracks in metals can be detected by X-ray. They can also be directly viewed under a microscope.Corrosion specialists sometimes use the same diagnostic technologies used in the medical profession. X-ray radiography, ultrasound testing and microscopy are frequently used in the field and laboratory for corrosion inspection and analysis.

Corrosion Training Courses
In-House Training, On-Site Training, On-Demand Training, On-Webex, On-Zoom, Online and Distance Learning Worldwide

WebCorr Corrosion Consulting Services is in the corrosion consultancy business and corrosion training is an integral part of our expertise and strength. WebCorr is registered with the Professional Engineers Board Singapore as a corrosion training provider. WebCorr has NACE certified Corrosion Specialist providing customized in-house training, on-site training, online and distance learning corrosion courses, corrosion seminars, and workshops on corrosion, materials, metallurgy, paints and metallic coatings. The following corrosion short courses have been conducted regularly since 1992 and were accredited by the Professional Engineers Board Singapore for awarding professional development units (PDUs) to professional engineers.

Our corrosion training courses are not like seminars or webinars where attendees passively watch or listen to the segmented presentations by different speakers, our corrosion courses systematically focus on active learning and knowledge transfer where attendees actively participate in the learning process by doing hands-on experiments or interactive virtual lab experiments to understand the subject matters and by applying the knowledge learned in the courses for critical thinking and problem-solving. We do not compete on course fees but on unparalleled course quality, learning support, and value-for money. Our success is measured by your learning outcome.

WebCorr's corrosion courses have attracted participants from the Americas, Europe, Africa, the Asia-Pacific and the Middle East. Our customized in-house training, on-site training, course-on-demand, online and distance learning courses can be taken at any time of the year and are not limited to the published schedule below.
